Welcome to Tye’s House, Inc. (“Tye’s House,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our websites, tyeshouse.org and localfoodheroes.org (collectively, the “Sites”), and any services, features, content, or applications we offer (collectively with the Sites, the “Services”).

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

2. About Tye’s House

Tye’s House, Inc. is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to provide supportive housing, agricultural training, and community rebuilding programs for veterans, individuals in recovery, and families experiencing housing insecurity.

4. Eligibility and User Accounts

4.1 Age Requirement

8.1 Tax-Deductible Contributions

Tye’s House is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We will provide receipts for all donations.

8.2 Donation Processing

Donations are processed through secure third-party payment processors. We do not store complete credit card information on our servers.

8.3 Refund Policy

All donations are generally final and non-refundable. However, if you believe an error has occurred with your donation, please contact us at eli@tyeshouse.org within 30 days.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 “As Is” Basis

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

  • Our Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TYE’S HOUSE, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Any conduct or content of any third party on our Services
  • Any content obtained from our Services
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content


OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO OUR SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tye’s House, Inc., its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of our Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
  • Your submission of content to our Services

12. Modification of Services

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our Services at any time without notice or liability. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of our Services without notice or liability.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our Services shall be resolved through:

  1. Informal Resolution: First, contact us at eli@tyeshouse.org to attempt to resolve the matter informally
  2. Mediation: If informal resolution fails, we agree to participate in good faith mediation
  3. Jurisdiction: If mediation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Morris County, New Jersey

14.3 Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, any proceedings to resolve disputes will be conducted on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tye’s House regarding your use of our Services and supersede any prior agreements.

17. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

19. Special Provisions for Program Participants

19.1 Program Applications

Submission of program applications does not guarantee acceptance into any program. All applications are subject to review and approval based on program criteria and availability.

19.2 Program-Specific Terms

If accepted into a program, you will be required to sign additional program-specific agreements that will govern your participation.

19.3 Background Checks

Participation in certain programs may require consent to background checks and verification of information provided.
